Nobody fears Peter Obi, He’s no threat to Tinubu — Umahi
Minister of Works David Umahi has dismissed Peter Obi’s chances of threatening President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting that nobody fears the former Anambra State governor.
Umahi made the remarks on Friday during an interview on Arise Television, describing Obi’s political influence as artificial.
The former Ebonyi State governor also criticised Obi for allegedly failing to consult South-East leaders before pursuing his presidential ambition.
He argued that Obi’s performance in the 2023 presidential election did not make him the region’s automatic choice for the presidency, adding that the South-East had other qualified politicians capable of seeking the position.
Umahi further said winning the presidency required negotiations and cooperation with other regions rather than relying solely on support from one part of the country.
