2027: Those around you will ruin your chances – Ayodele tells Tinubu
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over worsening hardship in Nigeria, warning that public anger could trigger attacks on APC supporters during the 2027 election campaign.
Ayodele spoke in a video statement circulating on Sunday, lamenting the economic difficulties facing Nigerians under the current government.
“Things are not going well in Nigeria under this government. Nigerians are experiencing serious pain,” the cleric said.
He cited rising school fees, high market prices, insecurity and the growing cost of living as some of the challenges confronting citizens.
Ayodele also warned of heightened tension during the election campaign, suggesting that public anger could put members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at risk in areas where the party lacks support.
“The heat will be intense, not something minor. Even if you stay in an air-conditioned room, you will still feel it. That is what I foresee during this election,” he warned.
Addressing Tinubu, the cleric said people surrounding the President could undermine his chances of securing re-election in 2027 by failing to give him honest advice.
“Those around you will destroy your chances in the presidential election. They are not telling you the truth,” Ayodele warned.
He also cautioned the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Joash Amupitan, against compromising his integrity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The cleric further predicted that Tinubu would face significant challenges in the North and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Ayodele had previously claimed that the President would struggle to win Abuja without electoral manipulation. However, the claim remains his prediction and does not establish how voters will behave or what the election outcome will be.
