FBI: EFCC sets to upgrade Polygraph Unit
The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has expressed the resolve to upgrade the capacity of the Polygraph Unit of the anti-graft agency and have it replicated at the various zonal offices of the Commission.
“I want to upgrade the capacity of the Polygraph Unit of the Commission, and have it in various zones of the Commission like Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano,” he said.
Magu stated this while receiving the Legal Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, (Embassy of the United States of America), Ahamdi Uche, at the EFCC Head Office, Jabi, Abuja, on July 10, 2019.
According to Magu, the Commission has invested into the Unit, especially in the area of capacity building.
“Most of the anti-corruption agencies in Africa don’t have Polygraph Unit like that of the EFCC, and that is what gave the Commission an edge over them,” he said.
He further attributed the achievements of the Commission, to “commitment and political goodwill”, noting that the anti-graft agency will remain focused on its mandate of ridding Nigeria of corruption.
Speaking on the existing relationship between the FBI and the EFCC, Ahamdi gave assurance that the relationship between the two agencies will continue to wax stronger. “Our partnership will continue to grow,” he said.
