  1. Report had it that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reportedly reconciled waring Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki. Ortom brokered a meeting between the two governors on Tuesday in Abuja
  2. A former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume on Wednesday obtained the chairmanship forms ahead of the March 26 convention.

    Although the chairmanship aspirants were not at the national Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), they all sent their aides to purchase the forms on their behalf.

  3. Suspected Gunmen, on Tuesday,  kidnapped the village head of Maigemu and three other persons, after killing four people at Kwatan Nanido and Maigemu villages,  in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, near River Benue.

    Confirming the incident, Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Alfred Atera, told our correspondent that the leader of the bandits, one Terna Gide, had threatened to attack villages within the vicinity were his men were killed.

  4.  There is currently palpable tension among residents of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue state following threats by armed bandits to attack the community over killings of colleagues by the military. The military operation, which was carried out by the Katsina-Ala unit of the Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, also led to the burning down of the camp of the bandits at Tse-Keji.
  5. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been asked to immediately commence investigation and probe of the N2 billion approved for establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Wannune.

    Making the call in a statement on Wednesday, the Zone B Youth Alliance, slammed the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator Senator George Akume for keeping sealed lips over the failed Wannune polytechnic project?.

    6. Indications have emerged that over 390 persons have been killed in repeated armed Fulani herdsmen attacks on communities in Gwer West Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state.

    The attacks also left over 37 persons injured and eight districts sacked while houses, farmlands and food barns were all razed by the invaders.

    7. Governor Samuel Ortom’s consultations with critical stakeholders for the realization of his senatorial aspiration to represent Benue North West at the senate continued Monday, March 14th, 2022.

    The Governor on Monday met with stakeholders from the Masev, Ihyarev and Nongov Development Association, MINDA at Community Secondary School Makurdi where he solicited their support to contest the election.
