Benue guber 2023: Akase visits Korinya, meets with his supporters

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP 2023 governorship aspirant in Benue State, Mr Terver Akase today visited Korinya town in Konshisha Local Government Area where he began his secondary education and met with a number of his supporters, among them the elderly, women and youths.

 

The immediate past Chief Press Secretary to the Governor first attended the morning Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Korinya where he gave thanks to God and solicited prayers as he moves round the state holding consultations with party stakeholders ahead of the PDP primaries next year.

 

The thanksgiving Mass was organized in his honour by On-Mbagben Association resident in Iwarev axis of Konshisha.

 

Mr Akase used the occasion to enjoin his supporters to be peaceful and uphold issue-based engagements with others.

 

The governorship hopeful said he is committed to playing politics devoid of bitterness and acknowledged the smooth relationship he enjoys with other aspirants.

 

He recalled his memorable days as a member of the St Joseph Christian community, while growing up as a young boy attending Government Secondary School, Korinya and appealed for support from the people towards the realization of his governorship ambition.

 

Speaking earlier on behalf of the thanksgiving organizers, Mr Augustine Ande said the Mass was to pray and seek God’s blessings upon their son and brother Akase who is aspiring to govern the State, having served meritoriously for six years as Chief Press Secretary in the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom.

 

Mr Akase later paid a courtesy visit to the PDP Caucus Chairman in Konshisha, Elder Adzer Beke and intimated him of his political aspiration and solicited his blessings and support.

 

Responding, Elder Beke commended Akase for the foresight and courage to seek the number one office in the State. He said he has been proud of Akase since his days at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN and for serving Governor Ortom’s administration with uncommon dedication.

 

He expressed confidence in the proven ability of Akase to perform excellently if elected, and admonished him to consult widely counting on divine providence, while assuring him of his fatherly blessings.

 

Later, while addressing a teeming group of his supporters, comprising elders, youth and women at Korinya township, Mr Akase assured them that he will run a people’s government and build on the efforts being made by the Ortom administration to take Benue to greater heights.

 

Others who spoke at the event were PDP Chairman Mbake Council Ward, Tivkaa Gaase, Elder Jerome Jov, the immediate past Deputy Chairman of Konshisha LGA, Ortese Kpev, Terlumun Atser and Jerome Jov for the youths, as well as Mrs Mercy Bunde for women. They all assured Mr Akase of their overwhelming support.
