1. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom says he has forgiven all Idoma people who chose to vilify him over the selection of the new Och’Idoma, Dr. John Elaigwu Odogbo.
Governor Ortom stated this the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House Makurdi when the people of Agatu led by the new Och’Idoma and other traditional rulers paid him a thank you visit on the selection of their son as Och’Idoma.
2. The paramount ruler of Idoma nation, HRH John Elaigwu Odogbo, has described Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom as a project in the hands of God.
HRH Odogbo, who recounted his (Ortom) humble beginning, which prepared him adequately for every task God brought his way, assured that his emergence will bring unity to Idoma nation while calling on Idoma sons and daughters to unite and move the Idoma nation forward.
3. Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from its Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday at the party’s State Secretariat in Makurdi chaired by State Chairman, John Ngbede resolved that That all organs of the party should mobilise and kick-start campaigns towards victory at the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in the state scheduled for May 7th, 2022.
The party stakeholders also asked that officials of the party seeking to run in elections on its platform must resign their current positions in line with provisions of the law.
4. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has approved a request by the people of Gwer East local government area to visit former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over the fire inferno that gutted his Mango Orchard in the area.

Governor Ortom gave his nod to the request following an appeal by the people of Gwer East led by Ter Gwer, Chief Dominic Akpe on the need for them to visit the former President to commiserate with him and register their displeasure over the burning of his Mango Orchard by yet-to-be-identified persons.

5. Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM), has announced the Matriculation/Orientation for new students.

The 29th Matriculation Ceremony for fresh undergraduates students of the Benue State University, Makurdi for the 2020/2021 academic session is scheduled for Friday, 11th February 2022 by 10.00 A.M at New Convocation Square.
6. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state Wednesday disclosed that several attempts were made to eliminate him for his forthrightness and unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Benue people.

He restated that he would not be intimidated and nothing would deter him from speaking out against injustice and the maladministration in the country.

7. There are indications that Comrade James Oche, the Executive Chairman of Ado LGA of Benue State may seek reelection in the May 7 LG.

Oche, reports says is being asked to continue in office to ensure peace and stability of the local government.

9. The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the replacement of deceased officials of the party should be replaced at their various levels in line with provisions of the law.
The party gave the order during its Executive Committee meeting held on wednesday at the party’s State Secretariat in Makurdi.
