1. The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom’s convoy on Sunday was involved in a road accident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The governor’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Terver Akase, who made this known in a statement on Sunday, said no life was lost in the incident.

2. The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Benue State, Heman Hembe, has said that there is no godfatherism in the party.
Hembe stated this at the weekend during the flag-off of his campaign in Makurdi, the state capital, where he tongue-lashed the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration of the state over its alleged failure nature.

3. Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, says the state is opposed to the national water resources bill reintroduced in the national assembly.

Reacting in a statement issued on Sunday by Terver Akase, his chief press secretary, Ortom said Benue is against the bill and will not be part of any discussion in support of it.

4. The Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor, Mr Nathaniel Ikyur has expressed gratitude to the Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom over his support on the death and burial of his mother.

He also expressed the same gratitude to the Governor’s wife, Eunice Ortom and other key government officials including the Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and the PDP Governorship Candidate, Engr Titus Uba and his running mate, Sir John Ngbede, former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Senator EY Orker-Jev, Rt. Hon John Dyegh, Hon Francis Ottah Agbo, the SSG, Prof Anthony Ijohor and Chief of Staff, Gabriel Tivlumun Nyitse for their support during the burial.

5. The Tyoshin traditional Council, Gwer-West local government area of Benue on Saturday organized a sensitization training on the institution’s code of conduct for traditional rulers in the area.
HRH. Chief Daniel Abomtse, the Ter Tyoshin and Chairman, Tyoshin Traditional Council while speaking during the sensitization training in Naka said, the idea was to equip the newly coronated traditional rulers with the knowledge of traditional activities and acceptable ways of ruling the people as contained in the Benue state chieftaincy laws.
6. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has been invited as a Special Guest at two international summits this week in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The events will focus on peace-building, social justice and sustainable development in Nigeria, as well as other parts of the world.

7. Benue State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have engaged themselves in a ‘war’ of words accusing each other of a plan to unleash mayhem in the state.
First to fire the salvo was the APC which claimed that it received information from reliable sources that the PDP – led government in Benue State has mobilized miscreants and thugs to organise protests across the state.
