During his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, entered a plea of not guilty to charges of tampering and abusing the Nigerian currency.

Before Justice Kehinde Ogundare, Cubana Chief Priest faced three counts related to the alleged abuse of the naira. These charges stem from accusations of spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social gathering, contravening the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The incident in question reportedly occurred on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, where Cubana Chief Priest was accused of spraying the naira while participating in a dance during the event.

Additionally, it was alleged that Cubana Chief Priest spent a period of two hours tampering with funds in N500 denomination notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Further details about the case are expected to emerge later.
