There is currently suspense in Benue South community as a new Och’Idoma of Idoma land is expected to be announced today.

The highest traditional seat became vacant after the erstwhile king, HRM Elias Ikoyi Obekpa joined his ancestors.

Today, the state government of Benue will announce who succeeds HRM Obekpa.

Toping the list of those penned down for the crown are renowned professor, Armstrong Adejoh, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono and a cleric, Pastor Elaigwu Ogbodo.

While Adejoh and Echono hailed from Apa, Ogbodo is a native of Obagaji in Agatu.

There are arguments in may quarters that Agatu should be allowed to produce the next king because the current second class chief is from Apa.

Today, IDOMA community will know who will administer their traditional shrine.

IDOMA VOICE is live and will bring your details shortly.
