James Oche donates vehicle, office, kits to Benue community volunteer guards

The Executive chairman of Ado Local Government Council, James Oche has donated a Toyota Hillux van, an office block and other kits incidental to the line of duty to Benue State Community Volunteer Guards team of Ado to enhance their smooth operation and quick response to distress calls.

Speaking at the event which took place in Igumale, Mr. Oche said the biggest challenge confronting his administration was that of insecurity. He lamented that the Ezza/Effium crisis among others has continued to have a negative impact on the economic and social lifestyle of the people, especially as many markets within the area no longer hold.

 

The Ado Council Boss appreciated the committed support of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Benue State Dr, Samuel Ortom for stationing the Operation whirlstroke in Ado which has substantially reduced the insecurity challenges in the area and charged the people to always volunteer useful information to the security Agencies to enable them serve the Local Government better.

Oche further emphasized his administration’s undeterred commitment to decimating crime and stressed that Ado Local Government is not and shall never be a retirement zone for criminals as there was no space for them within the territory of his domain.

 

Performing the cutting of the tape and handing over of the vehicle, the Ado Local Government Commander of Operation Whirlstroke, Capt. A.A. Abok commended the Council Chairman for his timely intervention as according to him, security is a collective responsibility of all. Capt. Abok opined that the perpetrators of these criminal acts were not strangers and urged indigenes to engage and cooperate with security agencies by obliging useful information for the benefit of all.

On his part, the Ad’-Ado and Chairman, Ado Council of Chiefs, Chief Joseph Onazi appreciated the council Chairman for his wise initiative and urged him not to relent as the people were all solidly behind him. The Ado DGSA Mr. Daniel Ajeh and the Leader of the Ado Legislative House, Emmanuel Ajagbo in similar remarks saluted the commitment of Mr. Oche and urged the people to be supportive of the Local Government leadership for optimal performance.

 

In his acceptance speech and vote of thanks, the Ado Local Government Commander of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, Amstrong Otse pledged on be half of his colleagues not to fail in their mandate and appreciated the chairman for his sustained support to them.
