1. The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will speak on his agenda for Nigeria at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House on Dec 5. Tinubu is expected to speak on security, economy and foreign policy at the United Kingdom’s elite Foreign and Policy Think-tank institution.

2. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 approved a new National Language Policy which makes the local dialect a compulsory medium of instruction from Primary one to six. Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, disclosed this while briefing correspondents on the outcomes of the council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

3. The Nigeria police have arraigned Aminu Mohammed, a final-year student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State arrested by security operatives for allegedly criticizing the first lady, Aisha Buhari. The police had earlier told Mr Mohammed’s family that he would be arraigned on Tuesday but later postponed the arraignment till Wednesday on the premise that the judge was indisposed.

Justice Ramon Oshodi of an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Wednesday remanded the Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Dr Femi Olaleye, for alleged defilement of his16-year-old wife’s niece (name withheld). The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oshodi ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the perfection of his bail.

7. Bianca, a Nigerian diplomat and widow of the governor of Old Eastern Region, late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, celebrated the 11th anniversary of the death of her husband. She shared photos from the event on her Facebook page on Tuesday.

8. Former Minister of Steel Development, Paul Unongo, is dead. IDOMA VOICE gathered that Unongo died at the age of 87. The elder statesman celebrated his 87th birthday in September.

9. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday November 29, 2022 sentenced the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to three months in prison for disobeying a valid court order. The presiding judge, Mobolaji Olajuwon, issued the ruling on Tuesday following a suit filed by a former police officer, Patrick Okoli, who claimed he was unlawfully and compulsorily retired from the Nigerian police force.

10. The All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, on Tuesday morning, denied apologising to Donald Duke, over the use of his photograph in a documentary on the party’s presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu. The viral apology, which hit the online portals and social media platforms on Monday evening, sparked reactions, with some critics accusing the APC candidate of admitting to fraud.
