Super Eagles won’t miss the 2026 World Cup – Ndidi
Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his determination that the Super Eagles will make every effort to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In the previous World Cup hosted by Qatar, the West African team fell short of qualification. They were eliminated on aggregate by their perennial rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana, during the playoff stage.
Under the leadership of Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles will face stiff competition from South Africa, Benin Republic, Rwanda, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe as they strive to secure a place in the finals of the 2026 World Cup.
“This win (against Sao Tome and Principe) is a good one for us. It will serve as a morale booster ahead of the World Cup qualifiers,” Ndidi told reporters.
“It was painful not to play at the last World Cup in Qatar. The fans were really disappointed in us, and we can’t afford to fail them again.
“We just have keep working hard as a team and hopefully things will be in our favour.”
Nigeria’s first game in the qualifiers is against the Crocodiles of Lesotho on November 13.
