Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) troops have achieved a significant victory by executing an ambush on suspected Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) at a Crossing Point near Kuka in Konduga LGA of Borno State.

In a well-coordinated operation, the troops patiently lay in wait for the marauding terrorists, engaging them in a fierce firefight that resulted in the neutralization of two BHT members. The remaining terrorists fled in disarray from the scene. Among the items seized by the valiant troops were 63 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) shell, five Pento injections, and a total of Nineteen Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Naira in currency.

Moreover, as a direct outcome of the relentless efforts in dismantling BHT strongholds, a notorious terrorist made the decision to surrender to troops of the 222 Battalion situated in Geizuwa, Konduga LGA. From the surrendered individual, the troops recovered valuable items including an AK47 rifle, one magazine, and 26 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. The surrendered terrorist is currently undergoing a thorough profiling process as a precursor to further actions.

Commending the troops for their exceptional vigilance and unwavering combat readiness, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, encouraged them to maintain their current level of determination. He urged them to keep up the momentum and ensure the complete eradication of remaining terrorists and bandits within their designated areas of responsibility.
