A violent clash between farmers and herders in the Kwanga community, Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has tragically claimed the lives of two individuals.

Alhaji Abdullahi Buhari Warah, the Chairman of the Local Government, detailed that the conflict began when a farmer was killed on his own land, allegedly by individuals suspected to be herders. This incident triggered a retaliatory attack on a Fulani settlement, during which an angry mob killed a young boy.

Warah explained, “The fight was sparked by cattle damaging crops, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the loss of two lives.”

He confirmed that security forces have been deployed to restore peace to the area. However, no arrests have been made, as both the farmers and herders had vacated the area prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

When contacted, SP Nafiu Abubakar, the Police Command Public Relations Officer, stated that he had not yet been briefed on the incident.
