Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has extended his heartfelt commendation to four Super Falcons players, accompanied by a noteworthy reward of $10,000 each. This recognition serves as a testament to their outstanding performance on the global stage.

Expressing his deep regard for their contributions, he has also pledged to grant the players a parcel of land, a meaningful token symbolizing their indelible connection to their home state.

The quartet comprising Osinachi Ohale, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Desire Oparanozie have proudly represented Imo State and Nigeria on the international platform. Ohale and Nnadozie’s unwavering commitment was evident as they showcased their skills throughout every minute of the Super Falcons’ gripping encounters in Australia and New Zealand.

Oparanozie, despite facing an unfortunate injury setback just before the tournament, valiantly made her presence felt with one crucial appearance. Meanwhile, reserve goalkeeper Oluehi, while not featured in the team’s games, remains an integral part of the Super Falcons’ journey.

Though the Super Falcons faced an unfortunate exit in the Round of 16, succumbing to the Three Lionesses of England in a penalty shootout, Uzodinma’s commendation serves as a poignant reminder of their exceptional dedication and spirited performance.

This isn’t the first time Governor Uzodinma has acknowledged and celebrated the achievements of his homegrown talents. In 2022, he extended his support to six players hailing from Imo State with a commendable reward of $6,300 each, following their impressive contributions to the Super Falcons’ semifinal berth in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
