The Apa/Agatu House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 general election, Jeffrey Onyejefu Isima, on Sunday, expressed confidence that the people of the federal constituency would vote for a credible representative irrespective of the political party, come 2023.

Isima, who made this statement during his zoom meeting with some constituent members and some party faithful, advised the good people of Apa/Agatu federal constituency to ensure that they vote across party lines, hence a credible candidate is what is needed to make the constituency great. The House of Representatives Member hopeful gave this admonition in the course of his ongoing consultation with leaders in the constituency.

He said, “The battle for the redemption of Apa/Agatu has gone beyond party considerations hence a credible candidate is needed to lift the federal constituency to where it is supposed to be.”

The international security expert, who has not made known the platform he is coming onto contest, further stated that: “I know that in the 2023 general election, the two leading parties are being careful due to bad outings in the past experienced in the hands of their flagbearers whom the people have lost hope in.”

He also said “I want to believe that the Apa/Agatu people are going to vote on the basis of the candidate’s personality and credibility; I have carried an assessment of voter behaviour in all 21 Wards of the constituency, and what I deduce is intriguing. The people are now wiser, they know what they want. They are craving for personalities that can add value and not liability any longer to their lives and livelihood; they are prepared, no longer, to vote according to party popularity. So, if the big parties impose a candidate, as they always do, it will be the self-inflicted waterloo that would end their relevance.”

Political leaders across parties and other constituency members in the platform assured him of massive votes in 2023.
