Funeral prayers for Anthony Joshua’s friends holds in London mosque on Sunday
The Janaza (funeral) prayers for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele close friends and key members of boxing star Anthony Joshua’s team will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London.
The service is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the London Central Mosque, 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG, following the repatriation of their bodies to the United Kingdom after their deaths in a fatal road accident in Nigeria.
Boxing King Media confirmed the arrangements in a statement released on Saturday, offering condolences to the bereaved families. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones,” the statement read.
Ghami, Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, lost their lives in a car crash on December 29, 2025. Joshua, who was also involved in the accident, sustained minor injuries.
The crash occurred on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State, when the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua collided with a stationary truck.
The London funeral will allow family members, friends, and figures from the boxing community to gather and pay their final respects to the two men who played significant roles in Joshua’s career.
A representative of Boxing King Media described the pair as more than colleagues, saying, “Sina and Latz were family to AJ. Their commitment, passion, and friendship will always be remembered.”
