The Nigerian naira maintained its recent movement against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Saturday.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as reported by Naija News, showed that the local currency was quoted at ₦1,321.2160 to $1 at the close of trading.

The latest figure remained unchanged from the rate recorded on Friday, when the naira traded at ₦1,315.6717/$1.

At the parallel foreign exchange market, commonly known as the black market, the naira closed at approximately ₦1,405 to the dollar on Saturday.

However, actual rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change (BDC) operators and other foreign exchange dealers may vary from the official reference figures.

Such differences are often influenced by transaction charges, market demand and the availability of foreign currency.

Attention will remain on dollar demand, foreign exchange inflows and policy decisions by the CBN as market participants assess the naira’s performance and whether recent movements can be maintained in the coming weeks.
