Peter Obi needs counselling — Onanuga
Onanuga made the comments in a post on his X account on Wednesday, following reports that Obi had urged Nigerians living abroad to stop sending money to their relatives back home.
He questioned Obi’s public statements, citing what he described as recurring gaffes, inconsistencies and incoherence.
“Peter Obi needs serious counselling beyond the ordinary. His repeated gaffes, contradictions and incoherent remarks are becoming a troubling pattern, and I believe he needs help,” Onanuga wrote.
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election, remains a prominent opposition figure ahead of the 2027 general election.
The reported remarks on diaspora remittances have attracted attention, with Onanuga using the development to question Obi’s public communication.
Diaspora remittances provide financial support to many Nigerian households and contribute to the country’s foreign exchange inflows. However, the full context of Obi’s reported statement was not immediately available.
