Benue State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir John Ngbede, mourns Dr. Terkura Suswam who was murdered in cold blood by unidentified gunmen yesterday at his country home in Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area of the state

Sir Ngbede describes the late Dr. Suswam, older brother to Senator Gabriel Suswam, as a man of broad vision and uncommon courage, one who in his lifetime exhibited a rare spirit of positive adventurism.

The Benue PDP State Chairman particularly acknowledges that the late Dr. Suswam fused his pedigree as an iconic academic and a passionate community mobiliser to pioneer developmental strides in critical areas both in the urban and rural settings of Benue.

Sir Ngbede regrets that his gruesome murder represents a sad page in the chronicle of efforts being assiduously made by His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom together with Senator Suswam and many others to restore peace to the Sankera axis of the state which has been much ravaged by the activities of criminal elements.

He notes further that those are the efforts towards peace, security and progress which the slain Dr. Suswam shunning the luxuries of city life, chose instead to stay back in Anyiin and contribute to, as he near single-handedly transformed the socio-economic plank of the area through the provision of critical infrastructure, social amenities, modern educational institutions and commercial activities.

The Benue PDP helmsman adds that no epithet will be more befitting to the tombstone of the slain Dr. Terkura Suswam than that “He loved his people so much he chose to live and die among them, seeking daily their peace, security and wellbeing”.

Sir John Ngbede on behalf of the entire PDP family in the state prays God Almighty repose his soul in eternal rest and grant the family the fortitude to bear his tragic and untimely departure.
