Police drag woman to court over alleged machete attack on husband in Ondo
A married woman has been arraigned by the Ondo State Police Command over an alleged machete attack on her husband that left him with severe injuries on his left hand.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on June 2, 2026, following a domestic dispute between the couple.
Jimoh stated that the suspect allegedly attacked her husband, Olatunde Julius, with a machete during the altercation, causing serious injuries.
He added that the victim was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment, where medical personnel documented his condition and issued a report to support police investigations.
According to him, police investigations established a prima facie case against the suspect, leading to her arraignment in court for prosecution.
Jimoh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling domestic violence, warning that such incidents pose a serious threat to lives and public safety.
He also urged members of the public to report cases of domestic abuse promptly to security agencies in order to ensure swift intervention and prevent escalation.
