President Bola Tinubu recently led his second Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and administered the oath of office to three newly appointed ministers. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chamber in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, preceding the commencement of the second FEC meeting in Tinubu’s administration.

The newly sworn-in ministers, Jamila Ibrahim (Kwara State), Balarabe Lawal (Kaduna State), and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo State), have officially joined the ranks of the 45 other ministers approved by the Red Chamber back in August, following their screening on October 4. Their portfolios have been assigned as follows: Jamila Bio-Ibrahim – Minister of Youths, Ayodele Olawande – Minister of State Youth, and Balarabe Lawal – Minister of Environment.

This FEC meeting, held on Monday, marks the second since Tinubu assumed office as President on May 29, after a 48-day hiatus. Following Tinubu’s letter, the Senate screened and confirmed the three additional ministers on October 4.

President Tinubu had previously sworn in and inaugurated 45 ministers on August 21, urging them to work diligently during the maiden cabinet meeting held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on August 28. He emphasized the high expectations of Nigerians and stressed that underperformance would not be tolerated.
