Ireti Kingibe dumps LP, joins ADC as only serving senator
The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, has officially dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
IDOMA VOICE gathered that, Kingibe is expected to complete her formal registration with the opposition party on Thursday at the ADC national secretariat in Wuse, Abuja.
Confirming the development in a statement issued on Wednesday, the senator’s media aide, Kennedy Mbele, said the move signifies her resignation from the LP and alignment with the ADC.
Mbele disclosed that the registration event will attract top ADC leaders, the party’s candidates for the February 21 FCT area council elections, supporters, as well as members of the press.
He added that Kingibe’s decision to join the ADC positions her as the only serving senator currently in the emerging opposition party.
