Celebrated Nollywood stars, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, have initiated extensive arrangements for the final send-off of the late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Recalling Mohbad’s passing on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances and his hurried burial the following day, investigations into his demise led to the Lagos State Police Command recently exhuming his body for an autopsy and depositing the remains at the mortuary in anticipation of a proper funeral.

In an Instagram live session on Thursday, both Iyabo and Tonto visited Ebony Vaults, a prominent funeral home in Lagos, to select an appropriate casket and finalize the arrangements for Mohbad’s ultimate burial ceremony.

Initially, Tonto had offered to cover the cost of the casket, but Dehinde Harrison, the CEO of Ebony Vaults, surprised them by generously providing the casket, hall, pall bearers, horn players, two wreath bearers, and even a horse carriage—all at no cost. Additionally, a discount for the vault was offered.

In their announcement, Iyabo Ojo expressed, “We are still seeking justice for Mohbad. Definitely, we are still waiting for the police authority to come back to us on their ongoing investigation. Everybody around Mohbad is a suspect and they are all going through one form of interrogation or the other with the police.”

She added, “While that’s going on, we have to make preparations for how he would be properly buried. And thank God we have been getting a lot of things for free, and I think the only thing we would be paying for now is where he would be buried, and all those things we are getting for free are not actually cheap for those of you who know Ebony Vault; their casket is not cheap.”
