Otukpo robbery attacks: Abba Moro blow hots, calls for arrest of perpetrators
In the aftermath of the tragic bank robbery in Otukpo on Friday, October 20, 2023, Senator Patrick Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District, has expressed his profound sorrow and condemnation of the devastating incident. This ruthless attack claimed the lives of innocent individuals, including security personnel who were going about their lawful duties.
Senator Moro, visibly moved by the unfortunate turn of events, decried the audacity of the armed robbers who were able to simultaneously target more than three banks for an extended period without facing resistance from security forces. He called on law enforcement agencies to swiftly bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice, as they managed to escape unchallenged in broad daylight.
The Senator extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, particularly the police force, which suffered the loss of over four officers and personnel, including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
Expressing his frustration and anger over the senseless loss of innocent lives, Senator Moro questioned the apparent absence of intelligence gathering reports that should have forewarned security forces about the impending attack. He stressed his determination to ensure that justice is served and the culprits are held accountable.
“I am deeply demoralized, embittered, and profoundly outraged by the Otukpo bank robbery attacks, and I assure you that we won’t rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Senator Moro affirmed.
