I once contemplated converting to Islam – Omah Lay
Famous singer Stanley Omah Didia, known as Omah Lay, recently disclosed that he once contemplated converting to Islam, despite being born into a Christian household. He shared that he has now moved beyond religious labels and is more focused on his personal relationship with God.
In a recent interview with media personality Wunmi Bello, Omah Lay explained, “As soon as I made money, I just switched; I just believed in God and became more human than religious. I don’t just enjoy religion anymore.
“ I grew up in a Christian home and spent a lot of time in church. At some point, I considered converting to Islam. But now, it’s just me and God, not religion. I’ve realized I don’t know much about religion. These holy books and what everybody is saying, I know it sounds true, but there’s no concrete evidence that these were written by God or His servants.”
“So, I just feel like I don’t know much, even though I’m familiar with the Bible, Jesus, and Allah. At the end of the day, I don’t have concrete evidence. The only evidence I have is that there’s a God who is guiding me. I believe there must be something greater overseeing everything, and I believe it’s God.”
