Kwankwaso lists conditions for possible return to APC
The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has outlined clear conditions for any potential return to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Speaking at a gathering in his Kano residence, the former two-term governor stressed that any political alliance must safeguard the interests of both the NNPP and his political movement, the Kwankwasiyya.
Kwankwaso, who recalled his role in the formation of the APC, said he and his supporters had suffered persecution from security agencies during the struggle against the former administration, only to be sidelined after the party assumed power.
“We are open to joining the APC, but it must be on firm agreements that protect the interests of the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya movement. Our candidates exist across every state, from governorship to senatorial positions, and we cannot be used and abandoned again,” Kwankwaso declared.
He explained that while the NNPP has given him and his supporters peace of mind, they remain open to alliances with any party, including the APC or even the PDP, provided past mistakes are not repeated.
“If there is to be a political alliance, it must be one built on transparency and mutual respect, with agreements that are made public to avoid betrayal,” he added.
