NFF seeks FIFA’s consideration for Fulham star Ademola Lookman to play for Nigeria
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has reportedly appealed to FIFA allow Fulham star, Ademola Lookman play for Nigeria while awaiting the final step of his clearance.
Lookman has already applied to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria since 2019 but a combination of issues like the lockdown brought by about by the coronavirus pandemic has stalled the process.
According to a chieftain of the NFF who spoke to OwnGoal, the delay is because Lookman had featured for England at youth levels.
He however, assured that the FIFA will soon grant NFF a special consideration for Lookman to feature for the country in the AFCON Qualifiers.
He said; “We have gotten permission from Rhor to quicken the process because he is keen on having him for the games in March. On our part we have specially written to FIFA to grant our wish since the player in question have already started the process. We hope to get a response soon.
