Manchester United must suspend Antony – Ex-girlfriend tells club
Manchester United winger, Antony is facing calls for a formal suspension from his former partner, who has leveled allegations of domestic abuse against him.
Gabriela Cavallin, the player’s ex-girlfriend and a model, has claimed that he assaulted her on four separate occasions. Additionally, he has been accused by two other women in Brazil, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana. Antony vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
The 23-year-old Antony has already been dropped from the Brazilian national team squad for their upcoming matches against Bolivia and Peru. However, Manchester United has yet to take any action in response to the allegations.
Cavallin expressed her stance in an interview with The Sun on Sunday, September 10, emphasizing that Antony, who joined United for £85.5 million from Dutch side Ajax in September 2022 and commands a weekly salary of approximately £150,000, should face consequences and be removed from the club.
She said: ‘Antony must be taken off the pitch. It’s disappointing that he’s still allowed to play while an investigation is underway.
‘I’m absolutely devastated by this whole process. How can life go on as normal for him? They can’t know what they know now and do nothing. He has to be suspended.’
