2027: Election rigging won’t happen under my watch – Peter Obi

The 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has pledged to prevent election rigging if Nigerians elect him president.

Obi also promised to fight corruption, improve waste management and strengthen law and order.

The former Anambra State governor made the remarks during an interview with Arise Television. He said his administration would ensure proper governance and serve the interests of Nigerians.

Obi said he would work to restore Nigeria’s reputation while tackling major challenges across the country.

“I will be able to do a number of things which will bring honour and respect to the country. You know that I will fight corruption, I will deal with the issue of waste, I will deal with the issue of law and order,” Obi said.

He also ruled out election rigging under his leadership. According to him, political parties would operate properly under his administration.

“Of course, what we are talking about now about rigging election can’t take place under my watch. The parties will function as parties and things will be done properly,” he added.

Obi said his administration would prioritise national unity, security and development. He also identified healthcare and education as critical sectors requiring urgent attention.

He said Nigeria remains divided and needs deliberate efforts to restore unity. His administration, he added, would focus on creating the conditions for sustainable national development.
