Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Manchester to discuss his future at the club with Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo missed United’s pre-season tour to Australia and Thailand due to “family reasons”, but now he is back in Manchester, the five-times ballon d’Or winner, has no intention of playing in the Europa League according to various reports.

Erik ten Hag has previously said Ronaldo is “not for sale” and “in our (Manchester United) plans.”

The former Dutch champion’s coach said he spoke to Ronaldo before the tour, explaining: “I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me. What I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together.”

Ronaldo netted 18 goals in the 2021/2022 season for Manchester United, making him United’s top scorer last season – and third in the Premier League, but the club’s overall campaign was seen as a big disappointment.

It is understood United do not regard Ronaldo as a player who is for sale.

The meeting will determine if the 37-year-old forward will return to training with Manchester United, or be allow to join a team that will be participating in the champion’s league next season.

United play Atletico Madrid in Norway on Saturday before their final pre-season game at Old Trafford against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
